I'm Francis Tin-ao, a software engineer based in Butuan City, Philippines. I work across the full stack — TypeScript, Next.js, and React Native on the frontend, Laravel, NestJS, and FastAPI on the backend, and Docker, AWS, Vercel, and Fly.io on the deployment and infrastructure side. I'm comfortable owning a project end to end: from the UI down to the API, and from the API out to production. I've built across domains including healthcare, education, tourism, and VR, which has made me adaptable to what a project actually needs rather than defaulting to what I already know.

Most of my experience has been in fast-moving environments — startups, competitive hackathons, and client work — where shipping working software under real constraints was the job. That shaped how I approach problems: get something functional in front of users early, iterate on what breaks, and keep the codebase clean enough that the next person isn't lost.

I've been through enough full product cycles to see where things tend to break down — usually at the gap between what was designed and what gets built, or between what was built and what users actually need. I try to stay close to that gap, which means thinking about product decisions alongside technical ones.

I'm currently open to remote roles where I can contribute to a focused team and keep doing work that matters.
